INTRAFIN Currency Management & Administration (CMS) module has been specially designed to assist Central and commercial banks control the ordering, transferring, storing, distribution, circulation, and destruction of local and other cash reserves.

CMS is a totally integrated module of INTRAFIN Network Banking. This means that other Intrafin modules and external systems can be easily incorporated into the process workflows to provide seamless application integration.

Currency Management & Administration comes bundled with many special features all designed to help you to successfully manage your cash stock holdings.

Any physical location where cash reserves are securely stored within your bank can be mapped to the system's virtual vaults. These can include counting rooms, issue areas, temporary storage rooms, cash centers and other remote locations.

In addition, virtual vault sub-levels can be assigned to represent:
- Multiple areas or tracks within each vault
- Multiple storage units in each area
- Multiple storage bins or cells in each unit into which cash is stored

All currency movements are dynamically updated in the virtual vault enabling operators to monitor cash positions in real-time.


Multiple cash categories allow you to track your currency reserves for reporting and audit requirements. Up to 35 different categories can be used to represent :
- New note packs and serial numbers
- Notes suitable for re-issue
- Proof and commemorative coins
- Notes awaiting destruction
- Soiled and damaged notes
- Mixed category notes & coins
- Currency in circulation

Currency Management & Administration can operate with a central operation centre that co-ordinates all currency movements within your reserve bank. The centre can monitor stock levels and initiate new note orders, cash deposits, issues, and currency destruction.
CMS can be configured to accommodate your specific security and audit requirements ranging from mandatory authorisation for currency issues and deposits to confirmation of currency destroyed.

Operators can be assigned different authorisation levels for transactions, and all user actions are logged for audit purposes. Operators can also be given select access to certain system functions, enabling tight information flow control. Paper printouts can be initiated for every system action to create a separate audit trail.


CMS lets you automatically track the total value of currency in circulation including each note and coin denomination.

Special inquiry screens and reports enable close monitoring of expected stock levels in the vaults, processed orders, destroyed currency, issues stock, and more.

Track any new note serial number from time of receipt from supplier to time of issue. Then calculate its life cycle before it is destroyed.


Your system will be delivered with a standard pre-defined ransaction set that includes:
- Cash deposits and Cash issues
- Orders for new notes & coins from suppliers
- Vault to vault transfers
- Cash withdrawals for destruction

Additional types can be defined with their special attributes so they conform exactly with audit and workflow procedure requirements.

Special transaction input screens are used to capture individual movements of cash into and out of the various vaults or other controlled areas in which cash is held pending release to the customer or final storing in a vault.

Many activities result in the automatic generation of accounting entries. These entries can be passed to either INTRAFIN Accounts Processing module, or another General Ledger system for posting as required.
